Privacy Policy
Effective date: 10/29/26
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Danfield LLC (“Danfield”, “we”, “us”) collects through thedanfield.com and our social media accounts, how we use it, and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal information.
1. Information we collect
When you place an order: your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number and the products you buy. Payments are handled by PayPal. We do not receive or store your full card or bank details.
When you contact us: your name, email address and message, through our contact form, email or phone.
Automatically when you visit: your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, recorded in our hosting provider’s standard server logs. We use cookies that the site needs to work, such as keeping items in your cart and completing checkout. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
On social media: if you follow, comment on or message our accounts on TikTok, Facebook, Instagram or other platforms, we can see your public profile name and what you post to us, as the platform shows it.
2. How we use it
- To process, ship and support your order, including returns and warranty claims
- To answer your questions
- To keep the site secure and prevent fraud and spam
- To keep business records required for tax and accounting
We do not send marketing emails unless you ask to receive them [confirm].
3. Who we share it with
We share only what each service needs to do its job:
| Service | What it receives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| PayPal | Order total, and your details as you enter them at PayPal | To take payment |
| Shippo and shipping carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx) | Name, shipping address, phone number, package details | To quote rates, print labels and deliver |
| Hostinger | All site data, as our hosting and email provider | To run the website and our email |
| Google reCAPTCHA | Device and browser information on the contact form | To block spam |
Order details are also copied into our own order management system, which runs on a server we control. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others. If Danfield’s business is sold or merged, customer records may be transferred to the new owner under this policy.
4. Data from social media platforms
We use an internal tool, Danfield Social at social.thedanfield.com, to publish posts to Danfield’s own social media accounts. When we connect our own TikTok, Facebook or Instagram account to it, the platform gives the tool information about that account: its name, profile picture, username, follower and like counts, and the list of videos and posts we have published.
We use this information only to publish and manage our own posts and to see how they perform. It is stored on our own server, is not shared with anyone else, and is not used for advertising. We do not collect data about other platform users through this tool, apart from comments and replies people post on our own content. Disconnecting an account in the tool stops further access, and we delete its stored data on request.
5. How long we keep it
We keep order records as long as needed for tax and accounting, usually 7 years. We keep contact messages as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up. Server logs and backups are deleted on a rolling basis.
6. Security
The site uses HTTPS encryption, and access to customer data is limited to Danfield staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and fix problems promptly.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, by emailing leaf10@thedanfield.com. We may keep some records where the law requires it, such as order records for tax. We will reply within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
California residents may have additional rights under California law. Contact us at the address below to use them.
8. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. We don’t track visitors across other websites, so the site does not change its behaviour when it receives one.
9. Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
